I am an artist entrepreneur who is continuously discovering things I love. I believe that my purpose is to share this journey and the fruits of my labor with all I come in contact with.
I believe that by pursuing one’s dreams and inspirations, acting from a place of love, eschewing doubt and fear, we improve our lives and the lives of those around us.
My path currently leads me to continue my education. I prefer to learn by direct practice: performing a task as it is done by, and under the tutelage of professionals who are knowledgeable, experienced and active in their fields.
My curiosity revs at the thought of organic textiles. I am intrigued by the sensory exploration of fibers: sight, smell, feel, sound. I also desire an understanding for production methods: textile agriculture, natural dye collection, harvest, processing and use, design and manufacturing as well as organic chemistry. I seek to contextualize my contemporary experience with fibers within an understanding of the history of textile manufacturing and utilization from different communities around the world.
Items of particular fascination at the moment: Cinnabar, Ghost Towns, Indigo, Alum, Wool, Button Down Shirts, High waisted pants, Hoods, Selvage Denim, Woven Patterns.
My current goals are to seek and gain employment in the field of textile concept, design and manufacture. I aspire to learn methods for production and study the business models and practices of successful textile businesses. I hope to use those skills and understanding to design and create my own products expressing the sense of wonder, amazement and divinity that I feel toward organic textiles.
